My color photographs present the basics of adopting lasting change into one's life.  Accessing the subconscious is instrumental.  Enhanced self-esteem through fantasy can be transforming.  If you can dream, you can be what you dream.

One of my series of photographs shows man-made structure as part of one's personal environment, from which we form our perception of life.  If two people were to talk into an abandoned structure, one of them might see it as dank, bug-infested and dangerous.  The other could get sublimely lost for hours, marvelling at ornate craftsmanship and envisioning inhabitants gone by. The place is simultaneously both perceptions.

Perception continues to play a role in my recent black and white work as well.  A series completed in 1994 highlights the fluidity of human form in its ability to mimic other forms, and also contrast them.  In the process, the series examines cultural objects and their relation to the human.

All of my photographs maintain a positive and perhaps humorous outlook.  My black and white and color images share certain qualities.   They emphasize perception: comparisons and contrasts.  In most projects, I make no use of computers or other manipulation to the photographs or negatives.

Often in my work, I also create the costumes for the models.  Many of these costumes are mounted and displayed as installation pieces along with the photographs.   In a number of my photographs, I am also the model.
